The thought of being attached to a rope midair while simultaneously being pulled by a boat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean never really appealed to me. That is, of course, until I tried it. Enter X-Treme Parasail, Oahu’s “largest watersports company.”
Very cool video that was shot and edited by Ben Boutwell and Steven Alan. The video was inspired by the intro to Modern Family. They actually covered a large portion of Oahu while shooting the video. You’ll notice Diamond Head, sugar cane fields on the North Shore, and the view from Aloha Tower. Regardless of location, it looks like they had a great time shooting this video!
If you’re looking to do a whale cruise in Hawaii then look no further than the Star of Honolulu Premier Whale Watching Cruise. I had the opportunity to experience the Star of Honolulu last week and I was thoroughly impressed and had an excellent time. Before I continue I should disclose that this opportunity was a complimentary offer provided to Exploration: Hawaii by Star of Honolulu as part of their media tour.
The traditional Diamond Head Summit Trail, really, isn’t a hiker’s hike. The Diamond Head trail is easy and it’s short. For those reasons alone, it is probably the most popular tourist hike on the island of Oahu. Oh, and let’s not forget the famous views of Waikiki Beach that you are awarded with once you reach the summit of Diamond Head.
Watching the sunset on a beach in Hawaii is great. Watching the sunset in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with Israel Kamakawiwaole playing in the background and a drink in hand is even better. The Welakahao Outrigger Catamaran [Update 12/1/2011: the catamaran was recently renamed the Waikiki Rigger]. offers just that and I got to experience this sunset cruise this past Sunday with Michelle.
