If you’re on Oahu and looking for a secluded resort, then Turtle Bay would be my recommendation. You’ll be far, far away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu and Waikiki. You also won’t need to worry about food…Roy Yamaguchi has got you covered. Roy’s Beach House, located on the beach that fronts the Turtle Bay Resort, is the perfect place to enjoy a taste of Hawaii while listing to the crashing waves.
Chef Roy and edamame go together like peas in a pod.
Hibachi salmon roll to start…with masago and macadamia nuts.
Grilled kalbi short ribs for those with a hearty appetite.
…with a side of fried rice.
And yes to the mahi mahi sandwich!
I’m looking forward to visiting again…and maybe this time I’ll order a cocktail to go with the sunset. Want more? Here are some ideas for a little Turtle Bay Staycation. Of course, if you can’t make it to Hawaii any time soon (bummer), then you can always pick up his book, Roy’s Fish and Seafood: Recipes from the Pacific Rim.
