When you find out that one of your favorite restaurants is doing a Burgers & Shakes special menu…you make reservations as quickly as possibly. It’s a good thing that we did (make those reservations), because MW Restaurant was packed for their one-day-only Burgers & Shakes event.
We picked up more than just a few items.

If you’re ketchup doesn’t get stuck when you flip over your Heinz bottle, then you’re doing it wrong. Plus, it’s not really ketchup if you don’t get to spank the bottle first.

Chef Wade working in the kitchen, shaving some fresh black summer truffles on top of my burger. At $45 a pop, I admit, it was delicious, albeit expensive. Upon reflection…that truffle burger did two things. It made me crave a Double ShackBurger from Shake Shack. Of course, if you’re going to indulge on a Shake Shack burger, you’ve got to do it in New York City. This damn truffle burger made me crave Shake Shack and NYC all in one bite. Damn you.

I decided on the “Mud Pie for Wade” after being persuaded by our waiter. It was HUGE. Great choice. And yes, we finished it all.
And here my friends is the ever elusive MW Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s kind of hard to get your hands on this sweet little rectangle, MacGyver’d by one of our favorite pastry chefs, Michelle Karr-Ueoka. So, if you ever find yourself dining at MW Restaurant (highly recommended), order (or at least try to) the Ice Cream Sandwich. They’ll likely tell you, “sorry, we’re sold out.” But, on those rare occasions when they say, “OK”…you’ll sure be in for a treat. Enjoy.
