After checking out Itsukushima Shrine, we decided to walk around the streets of Miyajima Island. The plan was to take the lift to the top of Mount Misen.
We spotted more deer along the way.
Beautiful, sleepy town.
And then it started pouring rain again. We ended up stumbling into an oyster restaurant dripping wet. Good thing though, because those oysters were delicious. Dare I say…radioactively delicious. Hiroshima is known for their oysters. They love to grill em’ up.
Sorry, I didn’t catch the name of the restaurant…
And then the unagi came out. Best unagi that I ever had…that is until I had the unagi in Nara a few days later.
We also ordered chicken donbori.
Satisfied, we decided to explore Miyajima’s busy market street a bit more.
And then we found this place that sold some tasty desserts.
These are called momiji manjyu, or sweet bean paste cakes. Oishi!
