With temperatures dipping into the 60’s during our little holiday getaway to Lanai, afternoon tea seemed like a good way to warm up. Besides, I’m always looking for places to have tea and dainty sandwiches and desserts.
Afternoon tea at the Lodge is served only on Friday and Saturday afternoons in the Great Hall or in the Bar. I chose to enjoy the light fare right in the middle of the Great Hall, on the big, leather chairs surrounding the tree trunk dining table.
The offerings are typical of traditional afternoon tea service – scones, finger sandwiches, and little pastries, all served on a 3-tier curate stand.
Here is a close-up of the housemade scones, including rum soaked black currant ones, with Devonshire cream, raspberry jam, and lemon curd.

Afternoon tea on Lanai…got that crossed off my list. Now, if only the Lodge will bring back their hot chocolate menu.
