The secret is out. It actually has been for quite some time. Ever since Unreal Hawaii posted shots of the Dead Man’s Catwalk, it has become a popular hiking spot for local hikers. I remember when I could hike up to this spot and there would be no one for hours at a time. Unfortunately, that is no more. It looks like hordes of people have been visiting the “catwalk” as indicated by all of the graffiti on the concrete and the surrounding wooden fencing.
Someone even went so far as to spray paint “waterfall” with arrows throughout the trail. The supposed waterfall trail ends here, at the Dead Man’s Catwalk. Of course, you will not see any waterfall whatsoever. However, step off the platform and you might fall right into the water. Speaking of graffiti, when did it become “a thing” to scribble your Instagram or Twitter handle over things.
The one thing that hasn’t changed, though, is the view. It’s still beautiful. You can’t graffiti that. We went on an especially beautiful day. The sun was out in full force and the clouds were a fluffy white. I even had a chance to bring up a vintage Polaroid camera and take some test shots using film from The Impossible Project.
UPDATE 10/24/2013: Reports suggest that security around the area has increased because of the nearby FCC towers. Also, individuals have mentioned that the area has been blocked off by barbed wire.
