Canyoneering Sacred Falls: 510 Feet Waterfall Rappel

This is rad. A group of local hikers recently successfully descended the largest waterfall on Oahu, Sacred Falls. The video below was shot and edited by Kitt Turner, a member of the crew that descended the falls.

“This video is of our canyoneering descent down Sacred Falls, the largest series of waterfalls on Oahu totaling 1519ft. There are more than 10 distinct drops, all ranging in height with the largest being a 300ft waterfall and a 510ft waterfall. In total the trip took about 30 hours, with one night being spent deep in the canyon. Awesome experience and one we won’t be forgetting anytime soon.” -Kitt Turner

A previous attempt was done by Merlin Wollenzien and company in 2007. This attempt almost ended in tragedy, with Merlin falling while descending the 510 foot waterfall.

Major kudo’s to all of these guys.

Are you the local news guys? Man, nothing falls short of your reporting huh?

Wow, Ryan. What is up with you? I’m not sure if you are new to the concept but its called a blog. Its where people post experiences they had or things that seem interesting to them, relating to the topic. Can’t everyone just have fun with it? It’s such a “kill joy” to have someone just come on websites to talk bad about their work.

Got something to say? Go for it!
